Recreation
Pee-Wee: 4th grade and under
Youth: 6th grade and under
Junior Rec: 9th grade and under
Sr. Rec.: 12th grade and under
Same divisions as Recreation, for those recreation/township programs that do not cheer for an organized sport.
*Middle School: 2 OR MORE divisions
Jr. Varsity: 11th grade and under
Varsity: 12th grade and under
All Ages (we will NOT remove the cheer mats before the dance divisions; teams will compete on the SAME floor AS THE CHEER TEAMS).
PAROCHIAL OR RECREATION TEAMS WHO APPEAR IN THE CHEER COMPETITION WILL BE ALLOWED TO ALSO COMPETE IN THE DANCE DIVISION AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. Before you sign up for a dance division: Please keep in mind that the dance divisions are usually closer to the end of our competition.
We welcome Individuals/Stunt Groups to our competitions.
Individuals/Stunt groups will be broken up by the same age categories as our team registrations. Different divisions may be combined depending on amount of registrants.
Routine can include or be broken up into music and/or cheer.
$20 per individual; $50 per stunt group.
Routine should be 1 minute in length but will not have deductions if routine goes over the time limit.
All-Star
Anklebiters: 2nd grade and under
Pee-wee: 4th grade and under
Jr. Prep: 6th grade and under
Jr. All-Star: 9th grade and under
Sr. Prep: 11th grade and under
Sr. All-Star: 12th grade and under
Sr. Co-Ed (small): 12th grade and under (3 males or less)
Sr. Co-Ed (large): 12th grade and under (4 males or more)
REINTRODUCING: Open Division: Teams with participants who are Age 18 and over.
Divisions will be broken down even further depending on amount of teams in competition to insure fair competition. *(examples: Middle school will have at least two divisions. One division will be 9th grade and under & another division will be 8th grade & under. Also small/large & novice/intermediate/advanced teams will be designated if necessary)
General Information:
The competition will begin approximately 10:00 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Teams should report at their specified time. Times will be assigned at least one week prior to the competition.

Participants will enter the gym and proceed to the NEW gym (located behind the OLD gym) for warmup/ practice times. There will be a group responsible with listed times. Also, Coaches will receive their arrival/warmup times the week prior to the competition from Marlon. Spectators will proceed to the OLD gym (first gym after registration) for seating.
Order of appearance: Reserve order based on registration. (If you register first, you appear last)
Time Limit:
Recommended Maximum 3 minutes. Teams will not be penalized if they go over the allowed time limit.
Safety:
We adhere to the National High School Federation Rules, AACCA.
All-Star teams will follow & use NACCC Levels & Safety Guidelines.
There will be a five point per judge safety violation deduction for throwing up on our mats without having a coach or representative clean it up!!! We go to great expense to provide quality competitions in our area because we respect the sport of cheerleading, please give us that same respect.
Music:
Coaches are responsible for starting and stopping of their own music.
*Tapes or CDs are accepted. Bring a second backup emergency tape/CD in case of difficulty.
Any unsportsmanlike or negative behavior/comments/actions will not be tolerated. CB East Staff/Security or Buckingham Township Police will escort anyone committing such offenses out of the building.
Maximum two coaches allowed in with each team. All others must pay at door.
WHEN YOU GET TO EAST, YOU NEED TO SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE WARMUP ROOM TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH TIME YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU NEED TO REPORT FOR YOUR SPECIFIC WARM UP TIME. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY FOR YOUR WARMUP TIME. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED OF YOUR WARMUP MAT TIME BUT IT IS THE COACHES’ RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THEIR TEAM TO THE WARMUP MAT FOR THEIR TIME PROMPTLY AFTER YOUR HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF WARMUP MAT TIME. YOU MAY WATCH AND ENJOY THE COMPETITION WHILE YOU WAIT FOR YOUR WARMUP TIME. YOU WILL HAVE FIVE MINUTES ALLOTED TIME IN THE FIRST PART OF THE WARMUP ROOM ALLOWED FOR STRETCHING. YOU MAY TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR SQUAD DURING THIS TIME BUT YOU
MUST PROCEED TO THE WARMUP MAT AREA WHEN CALLED TO DO SO.
Judges:
There will be three to five judges depending on the division. Any of the judges can and will point out any potentially dangerous or illegal tricks that the Coaching Staff may have overlooked. They will neither award nor deduct points. Any infractions will be noted and brought to the attention of CB East HS Head Cheer Coach (Marlon), who will make a decision on any point deductions. Only the coach/advisor may approach Marlon with any complaints or problems. At that point, it will be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. CB East Cheerleading has final ruling on the matter.
DOLLAMUR Competition (56’ x 42’) Mats will be provided. Food will be provided at the competition by CB East parents for a fee (fundraising) and you are able to bring food with you. PLEASE DO NOT EAT FOOD IN THE GYM. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE ON CB EAST PROPERTY – WE ARE A SMOKE FREE SCHOOL AND MAY HAVE TO RAISE OUR PRICES SINCE CIGARETTES HAVE NOT BEEN PROPERLY DISPOSED OF IN THE PAST. Please respect CB East HS property and dispose of your trash properly. Coaches can help tremendously with this effort to minimize the mess and cost of cleaning at the end of the competition thus we can keep our costs down for our next competition.
Also, Please remember: SAFETY FIRST.
The cheer floor will NOT be removed for the cheer/dance category. We are more than willing to spare the expense to make a quality dance competition happen at East and to promote quality dance teams at our competition. We will move the cheer floor for those dance teams that compete on a wood floor.
Scoring Criteria:
Judges look for: Variety of formations (Clean, sharp lines)
Transitions (Smoothness); Choreography (Originality)

Use of Props (Clean addition to routine vs. Distraction)
Motions (Sharpness); Timing (Team togetherness)
Appeal (Effect on crowd); Voices (Range)
Facials (Smiles); Appearance (No Jewelry!)
Execution (Incorps, Accuracy); Use of floor (Floor coverage)
Music can be broken up throughout the routine or used in one part. (Remember: Coach responsible for starting & stopping music)
Signs, megaphones and Poms are allowed. (Remember: Safety First with Props also)
NO GLITTER!!!!! (Judges will be allowed to deduct points if they detect glitter)
Marlon will explain/consult with the Team Head Coach/Director before judges deduct any points for legality reasons. Also, unsportsmanlike conduct by competing coaches or fans may lead to a deduction of up to two points per judge.
Any other declarations should be made to Marlon (at any time before team competes), who will address the judges (if needed). All music should be tested with the DJ, if necessary, before start of the competition. There will be no coaches’ meeting.
